Woke up at 3am to heavy snow, thought we might get lucky. Nope, 7 am and .5". It was snowing again and blowing from the northwest. East Side will be sweet. Was on the very first chair with GM a 73 year old guy who skis every day. We hit Minya to X over to Kenedy Dirve. Not too bad, very cold, 5 degrees at the summit. Snowing heavily now and we are up to six inches. Plenty of fresh to be had.
Second half of the day got even better. There is a real trick to skiing what I call powder ice bumps. There is an optical illusion that causes many people to get on edge early when the bumps are full of fluffy powder. We had to spend the afternoon showing all the PSIA level 3 clinics how to do it right.
It dumped all day. They closed Annapurna which was great for us. I had 3 untracked runs on that trail today, the last one in the sun. Felt like Colorado. Clairs was also great in the bright sun. Finished up the day with some bumps on X-over, then the seeded lines on Broadway and Ike. Creaky Knees was out today as well.
