That's likely close to the cost of the 6 pack - I know that the $ figure that Mount Snow is tossing around for their 6 pack and high speed quad upgrades for next summer is 10 million. Sure the installs are going to be a bit different, but most base to summit high speed chairs these days are running in the 4 to 6 million range

Pretty sure Killington's Skye Peak HSQ was 6 mil. I would assume a 6 pack would run a bit more due to more expensive chairs and most likely the engine needed to haul the added weight. Of course the Skye Peak lift might be much longer. Never been to Hunter.

Probably about the same in vertical rise, but the skye peak quad is probably a bit longer. (However, I'd think Hunter would be more technically challenging with all the cliffs and varying pitch of the climb.

Anyway, it sounds good, should definitely help them with the expansion. :grin:

Hunter used quite a few of the original pads from the old quad, they have at least half of the towers up and haven't used the helicopter yet. Makes me think it's going to cost them alot less, then 4.8m. That's why it states "move a lift and install a new one"??

Assuming the article is right, they were awarded a loan guarantee. The amount would secure what they'd be borrowing from a private institution - in other words, it would give a bank (or the lift manufacture) reason to loan a large amount of money while minimizing risk.

I highly doubt they're executing this project with $0 down, thus the guarantee may be on the loaned amount, not the total contract value.

The loan amount makes sense to me. They've got a lot of projects related to this happening/going to happen soon. Tearing down the Quad and the Y-lift, and putting the Quad back in where the Y was (with new towers and such), installing the 6-Pack, building a new snowmaking reservoir on the West Side, and I'd assume installation/upgrades of the snowmaking on the West Side.

That was the claimed cost including "trail improvements", which was major blasting and grading for 2 new sections of Great Eastern, plus the stash park. $5.1M was the claimed figure for the lift - but I think that's inflated quite a bit, since they re-used the towers....
