Resort or Ski Area: hunter
Conditions: Man made Packed Powder

Trip Report:
got there around 9 or so was at the top by 9:30
banged out 8 runs before stopping to eat at 11ish
banged another 8 after eating
basically hit the whole mountain but the best where the first few runs on belt. there where all these rollers so it was kinda like a rhythm section
around 1 the wind was blowing stupid fast so they stoped the quad for 20 min. got the poeple off started it back up again and put people on only to stop it again.
they started the tripple up but i left before they started loading
the condition where great in the am but as the clouds and wind roled in the light went peas on a board. so i wasn't to upset about the quad.

here are some crappy cell phone pics

what the hell is up with all those dirt roads that you can see on the next ridge at the first switchback on belt?

I wasn't able to make it out... Eski did...
I'm shooting for tomorrow - depending on how much snow we get tonight... :)

Looks like it was nice up there...except for the wind. Which roads are you talking about? The work roads that you can see the entrances to along the side of Belt, or something else?

nope these on the next ridge over. looks like logging or something. if they ever get enough snow it would make some easy access tp the ridge. it looks like you access them from a wooden bridge a little ways from the base

Looks awesome, are those pics of the belt?

ya it was the only place sheltered enought to whip ou the phone to snap a pic. the bowl area after hellgate was just to windy .

Is it snowing at Hunter?? Rain here the past 3 hours..

I was there today too, yes it was snowing. I got there about 10:00 and it was a rain snow mix on the bottom 1/3 of the mountain and snow on the top 2/3. I left at 2:30 and for the last hour and a half I was there it was snowing hard from summit to base.

On my first couple of runs I felt and probably looked like a total gaper but then I got my ski legs and it was a lot of fun. The visibility on the top half of the mountain was very bad for a good part of the day so it added a little more challenge. I kept taking my goggles on and off 'cause I couldn't see with them on but with them off my eyeballs kept getting pelted with snow. All in all a great time.:snow:
