What's it looking like? I'm in NJ this weekend, adn we have plans, of a sort, to go to Hunter, but if Saturday's rain is bad, will Sunday be worth it?

I'm in the same boat. Hunter is generally pretty good about regrooming their surfaces after rain - especially since it won't be followed by a deep freeze. That being said, if this is one of those biblical storms they seem to get in the Catskills, a lot of snow can be washed away.

I was there yesterday and it was good but very firm. It was getting skied off by the end of the day. If it rains hard they are going to lose some but Hellgate will prolly survive due to the huge base it has. Eisenhower will get wasted for sure and Mini might survive. Hellgate is nice when it's warm though, good bumps crop up.

The trails in the Catskills that are opened are in good shape.

To be truthful, so far this week the snowmaking during the nights has not produced a lot of snow in the Catskills at any of the resorts. High humidity and only a few hours during the nights of snow making temps below 32F has made it difficult to produce large quantities of snow to open new trails. Hunter has managed to open one more trail on the west side and another lift z-lift is now open. There will be some cold temps after Christmas. A few cold nights for 8+ hours would help snowmaking significantly.

Seeing that there are some jersians in this thread, don't you guys find it remarkable the mountain creek is open and has been open with six trails?
