This must explain why I never learned to ski when I lived in Massena. Hmm. How far are you from snow ridge or titus?

Sherm! I didnt know you left the great state of NH, you back at SLU coaching with Bob or something?

Come out to Jackson Hole before training trip (if your doing what I think you are) or some other time. The skiing out here will blow you mind. Plus youve got a free place to stay. Let me know. Hope your doing well otherwise.

I left NH to take a job coaching up at St Lawrence University. I actually hit up titus on thursday. They have some decent night skiing, and for only $13 you cannot go wrong. As far as skiing up in Canada, I have thought about it just have not made it up yet. I hear camp fortune is a decent little guy and that is pretty close.

dingding- yeah im back with Bob. Dont think I will go into a career of coaching, but hey...im getting a free masters out of the deal! Are you headed back up to Clarkson next year for grad school?

Well...time to go back to searching the HR pages at various northern NE colleges :p

My girlfriend's sister and brother in law just last night were talking about this place. They claim that the fish tacos are amazing, so I have to check it out. Ever since I had fish tacos in San Diego three years ago, I've been trying to find decent ones on the right coast. The ones at Margaritas are okay, but nothing special. A visit to loco coco's is in my near future.

Fortune is OK but the runs are SHORT > Some steeps but often crowded and thenLIFTS often dont run on the the Middle section . SLU used to train SLALOM there .

The other Ottawa area hills( Edelweis, Cascade, Vorlage, ) are JUST that hills>. Calabogie above Kingston has slightly more vert maybe 900 or so and Mont St Marie hr above Ottawa about 1000 BUT i find none of these worth the hassle of border crossing anymore . If you're going to TOLERATE that nonsense go to Tremblant or Mont ST. Anne or for a real treat Le Massif near ST. Anne's . Otherwise Whiteface or GORE which are a lot closer than Tremblant .

For my .02. Gore is the BEST CLOSEST serious Mtn
We also ski Titus also as my local speed bump but being a man of leisure now we often make trips rto see our kids/grandkids in New England to ski

As an aside ---got my masters from SLU then went to UB for PhD work

fish taco's? I have never had one but there is just something about them that seems a little..off. Tacos should really only have cheap low grade beef in them.

lightly battered flakey white fish, a little red pepper aoli, shredded red cabbage, bit of roasted corn salsa and a squeeze of lime over it - magnifico

Perhaps I caught it on a bad day, but I had fish tacos there today for lunch and I'd grade them a C+ at best. They were hurridly and sloppily put together, the cabage was just ho-hum. While the 'zesty' sauce was good, there was both too much of it, sour cream and the salsa, so combined they simply battled each other out and over shadowed the fish and cabage.

I'll certainly give it another go as there were many other items on their menu that looked fantastic and I'd hope given more care in preparation. Dug the vibe....wish it wasn't lunch, it would've been nice to enjoy a margarita in the cantina.

So....the search continues for the elusive east coast fish taco that matches the left coast.
