...Phantom of the Opera, it's in Boston and Ms. Trailboss treated me a few weeks ago. The music and special effects are  Great show...check it out. Well worth the time...better than Les Miserables which I saw in 2002...

25th of May or June? You have to let me know when you head into Manhattan for now on. I'd like to meet up for a drink. Maybe Allski and Loaf can come in for a meetup too.

May 25th... But it's going to be a run into the city - have dinner with my Fiance' who lives in the city and then the show..

We can hook up another time when I'm not so crunched...

blasphemy! nothing is better than les miserables. i saw it at the colonial a few years back, talk about an aweful place to see a show! the seats were the worst. i saw phantom on broadway in new york about 10 years ago. was always my favorite show until i saw les miz...

haven't seen and don't intend to see the movie.

Do you still have the program from Phantom? Who was the music director?

OK, the Principal Conductor was Glenn Langdon, Associate was Davud Robison, and the Concert Master was Jennifer Choi. The Music Director is listed as Glenn Langdon.

1700th Post!!

My wife recommended renting the DVD the other night. I told her I'd be up for it- If I could sleep through it in New York, I can sleep through it on my couch.
No offense to those who like it- it's dramatic, and the scenes and effects are pretty darn good. I'm just not at all a fan of the Great White Musical, in any of its varied forms.

I wasnt really down with it either.. I appreciated the special effects... But I sat through it...

And now we're going to see Spamalot and she's not a big Monty Python fan... Like me... :)

Thanks, tb. I was curious only because when I saw Phantom in Boston many years ago, I opened the program to find out the music director was someone who had tutored me on the trumpet when I was in high school; the son of my first boss when I was 15. We went down to talk to him after the show ended (whoops, duck because here comes the chandelier!) and he mentioned he would be "doing another project with Andy".

Yeah, he called him Andy.

I'm jealous, dmc. I'm planning on making it my life's mission to see Spamalot. Anybody want to borrow my wife for an evening? She won't want to go...

Maybe I'll tell her we're going to Lion King, then ditch her at the theater and head over to Spamalot...

Tell you what, I'm in the same boat. Let's send the womenfolk to one of those "other" shows, and we'll head to Spamalot. 8)
