This year has shaped up fairly well. I've had several VERY good days this season.

I did 4 days at Jackson Hole to start the season. It was beyond awesome. Then 11 more days skiing the East including a trip to Mount Snow after the torch/rain at the end of January and Pico the weekend after heavy rains 2 Tuesdays ago. Not one bad day this season. All really good!!! It's been a nice cold winter save for these couple warm rainy spells but northeast resort mountain ops have really got their $#!t together and get the hills ready for us really quickly after a torch. Gotta give props to them. Just arrived in Lake Placid and looking forward to some amazing conditions at Whiteface tomorrow and Sunday!!! gotta love the northeast!!!!

With snow up your YOUR eyeballs you don't have to worry about falling and getting hurt. Getting up, well, that's a different story. I carry a winch ;) ENJOY!

funny you mention that bill , I had a bitch of fall thursday . We dove over a headwall that was groomed at the top and at the bottom of the headwall BUT not over the lip and on the wall itself .Usually the whole damn thing is groomed so we had no reason to suspect what we found over the lip

to cut to the chase both me and my buddy an ex Dartmouth racer hit the dense heavy crap just over the blind entry to the headwall at warp speed , . I tried to make several jump tirns to correct , but then made a huge mistake and let em run on the steepest portion .

Well it was fugly , hit that crap , lost it , got airborne at speed hit the back of my head so hard on. The damn white ice underneath it both wrenched my neck , back and CRACKED my Giro Streif helmet albeit a small crack and broke the goggle clip , My friend really wrenched his shoulder . WE SKIED ANOTHER 4 hrs , luckily i had no symptoms of concussion and still am fine

BUT my freaking neck and back are pretty sore yet ,so no skiing today or this weekend . Bought a new Briko helmet yesterday too as once a helmet takes a hit like i got the absorption is toast . So no jock like an old jock , sometimes more cojones than brains :dunce:

Around here our season was excellent. Average by snowfall but compared to last year it was amazing. The thing is it seemed like for the past 3 seasons we were finished by the first week in march. This year did stretch out. Its been cold and that last storm hit us pretty good, but then the lake effect kicked in.

I decided to go for the last time yesterday. The local mountains opened back up yesterday for the weekend. I figured it would be ok....but I wasnt expecting much because were in late March. Boy was I wrong.

in 30 hours, almost three feet of pure snow fell down. They didnt touch (groom) the mountain which left it as pure snow....And nobody there but a few of us..

Lol, the old people complained it wasnt groomed lol...Please its pure powder lol

It was a great way to end the year. They still are open and I bet today was excellent.

Overall I rate this season an 8

Just skied 4 days in Utah. Snowed everyday. I didn't take a lot of trips this year, but I brought the pow with me on all of them.

This season has been really great. January was a little rough but it always is. I feel I have skied WAY more powder this year than past years. I even held off on my annual trip to Jackson or BC because the snow in NVT has been so good.

The east has been great this year and I've taken full advantage of it and will continue to as long as it lasts. That said the west is still the best. This year is about average out in Utah and its still off the wall good. I love old New England but given the choice I would pick the Rockies everytime.

Late December into early January was excellent even through the first thaw then it was groomers until February and its only gotten better since. Unfortunately I missed the end of February and most of March until thus past weekend but I'd say overall its been a good season so far. I'm looking forward to a few more good weekends to finish it off.
