Holy Shit. Sounds like something that Michela or Lindsey Vann would do for Rehab. LOL I think I get the jist of it. She is doing all kinds of different things to balance the muscles.

lol yea, i was definitely the most healthy/athletic person at PT.

most people there were rehabbing major injuries.

at least during my weekly session, i seemed to be the only person there because of mild athletic pain and being proactive about getting ahead of it.

We already booked a new years week trip to Alpine / Palasades to stay with my friend who had a double hip replacement and is rearing to go.
I skied two days Palisades last March. LOVED IT. Had been there only one day before. Had a guide/friend both days, Really helped enjoyment. Skied half day at Alpine, but in low viz.

I hear ya! Still clinging to those last few warm days and pretending winter is a million miles away. I'm with you on the IPAs, though... gotta be some sacrifices I'm not willing to make! :D

Where have you been fishing around here? Provo river, Deer Creek Res and Jordanelle are close by your house right. Have you made your way up Mirror Lake Highway yet?
Yes to all. Also Strawberry Reservoir, which is a good 50 minutes, but it offers the chance at a "trout of a lifetime" every time you go. People catch 20+ inchers there commonly like it's no big deal.

Ugh. Thought the legs were in better shape. We hiked Anthony's Nose today. Around 4 miles and 1k vertical and my old legs and ass were draggin'.

snowing up north a bit.

i'm ready to go.

pulled the trigger on a skinny ski. went with the armada invictus ti 92. i am hoping they are stable enough for me. they are a bit lightweight for my style. they are well reviewed tho and i couldnt pass up the <400 deal on them.

brought the new skis to the shop to get mounted and got the old skis getting their pre-season tune ups.

Don’t get yourself injured. So many olds get injured doing CrossFit.

92 is not a skinny ski.

92 is not a skinny ski.

all things are relative. my skinniest ski for the past many years was an even 100. my fischer ranger 100s ate shit and i consciously decided to get something narrower.

i now have these 92s for most east days, my kastle 106 for the better east days, and my kastle 116s for airplane excursions.

That is a pretty good trifecta of sizes.

yea i was leaning towards some 96s, so i would be 96/106/116, but ultimately decided i wanted something closer to 90 to truly feel a difference and actually consciously go narrower for east coast day to day.

so i was considering the elan ripstick 96 black and the kastle 96 (there was a huge appeal to rounding out the kastle set)

but once i decided to go even narrower i shifted focus to the moment commander 92 and the armada invictus 92. i am a free-skier and i want a freeride ski. i gravitate more to the brands that make the kinds of skis i typically enjoy, trying their hand at a 'frontside freeride carver' if such a thing exists. the armada won solely on price. i was actually really excited about skiing moment again (loved my old belafontes)

will report back. my only concern is that they may be a little squirrely for me. i like a really stable 2x4 of a ski generally.

Glomming onto this thread bc I desperately need a front side groomer ski that won't be useless in a few inches of fresh but that has great grip on hardpack / frz granular and shorter turn radius. Not really feeling my J Skis Fast Forwards for this application, even with a 2 degree edge tune. Any recs?

I check on the web cam everyday at Granby Ranch where we have our condo. Today snow guns have been retrieved from storage and placed into position to start. They blew out mice a couple of weeks ago. They apparently made improvements to the system this summer and may make stab at opening for Thanksgiving, much earlier then in the past. Wonder if their affiliation with Indy Pass could be driving this. Another step toward the season.
