What Waterville has done up on High Country is impressive. Too bad it isn't for public consumption but that looks extremely solid. Probably a better product than either pass holder opened resorts today. The T-bar at Waterville is running, people are skiing

Were you on Canyons side?Skied about 2.5 hours today in a storm...
Was worried how I would feel after...right knee is pretty shot ...but...
No prob.
The rare times I was in Port in Norfolk we would make that drive if there was snow. Its.been decades but I remember liking that place and having lots of funNo skiing yet for me. Focused on remodel project of master bathroom. But there is a nice little ski area (Massanutten, VA) that is about two hours from my house that offers a $75 season pass for seniors (up from $25 last year). It should open for the season soon. Hope to use the senior pass there a few times in Dec and Jan, then head west.
Massanutten, Dec 2023:
Yup...back and forth between 2 runs....Were you on Canyons side?
Gel shots???Speaking of Knees I just got a cortisone shot today to be followed by a series of gel shots starting next week.
Hyaluronic acid commonly referred to as gel shots. They inject it into the knee and it lubricates the joint. I have osteoarthritis in my right knee, meaning hardly any cartilage. Works ok but hurts.Gel shots???
I did the whole knee process for several years. (a knee abused by 12 years of rugby, competitive D1 tennis, too much softball and an inability to face the fact that I was getting old). Lost weight to relieve stress on knee. Aggressive PT. Got into way better shape. Several cortisone shots, 2 rounds of gel injections (Uflexxa). All of it helped a little but it was just a patch treating the symptoms, delaying the inevitable, it wasn't getting better. Had a TKR last July. Wish I had done it years ago. The issues are fixed. I knew 10 days out from surgery that the underlying problems had been fixed. The challenge is the rehab to deal with the collateral damage from the surgery. 3 months of PT from a great Physical Therapist (Physical Terrorist?) and I'm close to 100%. Some residual stiffness but no real pain. Skied half a day last weekend...first day skiing without pain in 5 years.Hyaluronic acid commonly referred to as gel shots. Lubricates the joint. Almost everyone I talk to who had a TKR: total knee replacement has had a few years of these "gel shots" along the way. It's hard getting older but it beats the alternative.
Hahah yes but tomorrow we might have…3 are you working on this side?Yup...back and forth between 2 runs....
