Wife got me an iPad. It only gives me the mobile site. How do I default to the normal site?

Same issue here. There's a thread in the help forum about it. Someone suggested using "atomic" as a browser. A buddy of mine mentioned another browser, but i can't recall the name. I think it supports flash?

I think the iPad registers as a mobile browser on this site so that's why it comes up the way it does.

i recall reading that there is a (should be) a setting on the ipad that allows YOU to change to desktop mode rather than mobile. I think BVibert knows more about this.

I DL'd Atomic Lite...it still brings up the mobile site. I tried messing with the settings, but couldn't see anything that lets you "set" how website see the browser. There's gotta be a browswer out there that lets a website "see it" as IE, FireFox, Chrome ect....

Atomic is supposed to allow you to do that. Maybe you need the full version?

Glenn, I'll let you know if E figures it out on hers that she got for Christmas. She was looking forward to playing with it all day today. It's probably some simple little thing that it takes an almost 7 year old to figure out ;)

I did some searching. It appears to be the website itself that determines this. A couple of forums stated that it can not be turned off. The site itself should have a link button to go the full site. I know USAToday has the option. So we need Greg to add this link feature.

DMC might know also. Where the heck he is and why is he not chiming in?

If mobile can't be disabled for iPad, please move the Up link away from the logout button.

Sad to say, I've succumbed and become an Appleite
