It's just that the majority of "contentious" members have been banned or moved on.

Actually that's way more than I thought. I was thinking only in the 10-20 range.

Purely for bad behavior is very very low.

Definitely more than 3, but 100 sounds high if you're not counting spammers.

This is true. I have poked around on other forums, but AZ is like the gold standard. The bar is pretty high in my book, all the other forums seem stupid.

Nick do you wait for the spammy posts to ban?

For us, any body who joined at 3AM and is from Southeast Asia, gets the hammer.

I also put this thing in that allows only replies (no new threads) and links don't work until we approve.

It actually kinda funny watching spammers try all kinds of things to get their links to work.

I put in some plugins last year that have done a really good job preventing spammers from sigong up. Uses a few methods like stopforumspam db . its still really hard to stop an actual person registering.
