Thanks guys, appreciate it. What are some of the mellower glades? I am still working my tree skiing.

I could go on and on about tree skiing at Smuggs. There is really something for all levels. My wife is an intermediate skier that likes mellow trees and we spend a lot of time skiing Bermuda/The Shire. These have a very mellow pitch and nicely spaced trees. What's great is that this area gets a lot less traffic so you usually have the area to yourself which is nice when you are learning. And because it sees less traffic the snow is always good. The only downside is skiing back but if you gather enough speed you won't need to do much if any skating. Red Fox off Madonna I and Sherwood Forest off Sterling all hold great snow and are mellow.

The Poacher glade is a little steeper but fairly open, and a lot of fun.

Sounds good. Will check those out.

One more question: which way do you take up, 91? Unless I can swing Wednesday, I will have to drive Thursday evening when the snow starts.

Yea 91 to 89. Don't make the mistake though of taking route 100 through Stowe. It's closed in the winter but Google and Mapquest will try to convince you otherwise.
