...HEAVY RAIN WILL QUICKLY CHANGE OVER TO HEAVY SNOW BY LATE THIS
AFTERNOON ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF NORTHERN NEW YORK AND VERMONT...
.STRONG LOW PRESSURE CENTERED ACROSS THE CENTRAL MID ATLANTIC
STATES WILL QUICKLY MOVE INTO THE GULF OF MAINE BY EARLY SATURDAY
THIS MORNING. THIS TRACK WILL PULL PLENTY OF ATLANTIC MOISTURE
INTO NORTHERN NEW YORK AND VERMONT THROUGH THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...AS
COLDER AIR INTERACTS WITH THIS MOISTURE THE RAIN WILL RAPIDLY
CHANGE TO WET SNOW ACROSS THE NORTHERN ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS BY 3
PM AND BY 6 PM OVER THE NORTHERN GREEN MOUNTAINS.
SNOW FALL ACCUMULATIONS ACROSS THE NORTHERN ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS
ABOVE 1500 FEET WILL BE 3 TO 5 INCHES BY MIDNIGHT.
MEANWHILE...TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ACROSS THE WESTERN SLOPES
OF THE NORTHERN GREEN MOUNTAINS OF VERMONT ABOVE 1500 FEET WILL BE 2 TO
4 INCHES WITH SOME LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE NEAR JAY PEAK.
THIS HEAVY WET SNOW WILL QUICKLY REDUCE VISIBILITIES BELOW ONE MILE
AND CAUSE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN
OF THE ADIRONDACKS AND NORTHERN GREEN MOUNTAINS. THIS WET SNOW
WILL STICK TO TREES AND POWER LINES...AND WHEN COMBINED WITH DEVELOPING
NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH AND GUSTS TO 35 MPH WILL CAUSE
SOME TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES TO COME DOWN.
