It's HOT. Today the heat index is going to be above 100 degrees from 11AM to 8PM with actual temps about 100-101. On top of that the dew point is going to range from 72-74. First time it's broken 100 in DC since 2002. So, how hot is it in your area?

Only 97*F here in MA today. But as of last night, 2 out of 3 TV weather clowns said over 100*F tomorrow, and the best of them (Harvey Leonard on Channel 5) said 102*F in Boston tomorrow, which means a few degrees hotter here in the western suburbs. I find it hard to believe it could be 104* at my house tomorrow, but I'll let you know.....stay cool in MD, dude.....

Yeah, perfect day for throwing hay bales.

Again. Balls.

I believe I'll go sailing tomorrow. Even though it's supposed to be that hot tomorrow, Intellicast says winds blowing 10 - 20 mph, so that should help.

Accuweather is calling for 98 here today and 101 tomorrow. The local weather goons are calling for about the same thing...

Exactly. I don't miss the hype...err...news from Massachusetts.

Some heat advisories for the Champlain Valley but it is going to be in the 90's* up here. Some places will approach 100* or so with the heat index.

Marc if you have to do haying, wait until tonight at least. I used to help hay at my grandfather's and I don't miss those hot days in the fields. Lifting square bales and working in the hot barns...you lost a lot of weight!

Staying in the AC today. I don't understand how we can go from Sunday (PERFECT day) to this crap in such a short time...it is New England.

Oh yeah...and did anyone else get a thunderstorm wake up this AM??

Amen Boss....don't miss the hype of Mass news either!
Had some wicked storms this morning...the new Dudley Davis Center (student center) at UVM got hit by lighting and started a little fire. Had to close Main Street for a bit. I bet the commuters loved that!
Anywho...thank goodness for AC!!

Common sense dictates that in this type heat you just stay inside in AC or keep any strenuous activity to a minimum. Hike or jog or whatever EARLY, and it'll still be hot, but cooler than later....

I don't know why the media hypes this stuff soo much...its summer..I expect this in the northeast...its nothing new..but every year without fail...the media gos nuts with the first predicted 3 days of 90+ heat...its ridiculous..

Think SNOW..you'll stay cool....... :D

Yup, that's the media for you, and in the winter you'd think it was the end of the world when a couple of inches of snow is on it's way...

I'm really looking forward to my 7 PM lacrosse game tomorrow night. NWS is calling for widespread haze. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high around 100. Heat index values as high as 108. I used to do a lot of Bikram Yoga (105 heat index) so I should be OK. Plenty of fluids during the day. I also need to ask for a substitute every 10 minutes or so (I hate stepping off the field).

I just lost power for about a half hour, which was probably from all of the power being used by air conditioners. It usually happens 3 or 4 times throughout the summer, and tonight was the first time it has happened this year. Hopefully it's back and here to stay.

TV weather says at least 101*F in downtown Boston today, which is hard to believe. That means a couple degrees hotter out her in the suburbs. It's already getting hot at 6:55AM....

It was a hot one last night too. My power went out right when I was going to bed, which meant no A/C and fan for quite a while. The A/C never kicked back on but the fan did. Talk about a brutal night...

Can't wait to put the old helmet and pads on tonight and play some lax.

A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Widespread haze. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 98. Heat index values as high as 110.

Gonna be a slow game, I think. Lots of passing, not much running. You better hope your D can clear all the way to the attackers. Let the middies sit on the line.

I'm one of those D guys who loves to bring the ball up the field too. I'm 29 but the majority of our squad are heading into their freshman year of college, currently enrolled, or just graduated. We'll have to lean on those young guys a bit tonight.

100 degrees on the nose when I left work yesterday, heat index values near 110. Today is expected to be even hotter. The air was so hot and thick it was hard to breathe properly.

This weather is useless. I defy anyone to explain to me why they like it.
