Quick TR from way up North!

After a great day of mountain biking on Saturday, i switched to my board and went up to Jay to check out what was left of the 12-14in of snow received on Wed-Th. My friend Seb was there on Saturday and told me conditions were pretty good... even tough Friday was way too warm to keep the snow on the ground.

We did 3 runs: Hot Shot, Haynes and Jet.

Hot Shot had the best snow on it... Haynes was ok and Jet had lots of tricky spots with water mixed in under the lifts... had to be careful... However, the snow compacted a lot so it was dense and i never hit bottom once. Great cover all over the mountain.

My friend Seb was strugling on his xc-skis (tele) and so was Simon on his alpine setup... The crust on top was pretty hard for those on two planks! Of course, it was pretty good on one board... surfy and crusty with occasionnal fluff.

A great day! We finished it off by the river in the village watching the sun go down behind the mountain with a cold beer.

Now back to the city for another week of "stress n' work"! Yehhh!

Thanks for the report. I was wondering how the natural stuff was doing up there.
