Holiday season is over for most of us. We were out there for the whole 2 weeks where we saw the best conditions possible and also quite possibly the worst... He're a real recap of the 2 weeks spent at the mountain riding all over the place...

Dec 20th-24th: The first, and best, strectch of the season so far! We started the holiday with some pretty sweet powder! On monday it was by far the best day! Brutally cold with tons of wind... You had to dress very warmly. Any exposed skin for only a few seconds would leave a frost byte. We were tracking pow lines all day from 9AM till 4PM. Getting face shots after face shots with knee to waist deep pow in the woods. The tripple and bonnie were online so we could access pretty much everything. Best run of the day was in Kitz's woods where we caught some sick lines down with some air in the middle... Wow! Fishy was happy!

The next day, after a few runs at the resort, we headed out to earn some turns. We scored some lines that were waist deep and super light. The steep pitch helped carve some great turns down the hill... Unfortunately, the season is still starting... so it involved a lot of water crossings. Nevertheless, a great day out in the backcountry

On xmas eve, we knew what was coming. So we sticked to the resort and enjoyed the leftovers that were still pretty good. Carving down the can-am in thick wind-packed powder is always an awsome feeling. Wind was up again... so rocks were popping out here and there... At around 3PM, we started to see a change in the weather... snow was heavier also with all the moisture and southern wind. We had to stick around and enjoy it while it last.

Xmas day, 26th and 27th, we only took out the snowshoes... Too depressing to go to the mountain... 28th was harsh on the troop's morale... Bottom of stateside was green and brown for the most parts... Water flowing everywhere... The place looked like it was attacked... No more snow in the trees.... Barely covered on the can-am... They couldn't put a lift line at the bonnie because the area was flodded and had no more snow... So depressing...

The 29th was by far the scariest day. ICE all over. Nothing but ice. ICE ICE ICE. It was dangerous even too walk around... skates would have been better then skis! They didn't open the tripple because they would have had too many accidents!

30th came with a bit of snow... so added to the grooming of trails helped make it a pretty good day after all...31st was ok too... but we headed out in the BC to see what that 6-8 in did to the snowpack... a great afternoon with some light pow on skiable hard crust... nothing slippery.

Jan 1st was awful... winds picked up and scrapped off all of the snow... 1 run down the Northway scared the crap out of me... Not worth trying anything else, went straight home! Everything but the bonnie was on wind hold.

Jan 2nd was surprising... We got there at 2PM because we were so discouraged from the day before... But conditions were great... groomers were out and made a huge difference... But now the crowds were there... Yeah, the gappers and flatlanders who tripple-parked on stateside blocking my friend from getting here car out! Liftlines at the Jet even at 3:30PM...

So Jan 3rd, we opted for another BC day... Long touring... Great snow... poor access... But great snow! 6 hours out for 2 runs down some pretty great lines... Winds were blowing the rest of the gang did only 1 or 2 runs.

Jan 4th... The last day... Light snow made a difference... I was determined to end the holidays with the sweet taste of powder... Snow had to go somewhere... so i pocked into a few spots and found some huge wind-blowned powder... perfect for me! No crowds at all... lapped the tram 3 times because the flyer was oh so freakin windy! No issues, i was able to catch the tram right on everytime... By 1PM, i had to head out... too bad... snow was packed but still some good stuff to ride all over the mountain...

This week looks very promissing... I'll try and get my girlfriend off from work on monday so we can get some more turns... Now i want more snow up this way! Bring it on!

Hoping the new year will bring lots of fresh snow for everyone!

(i might put some pics later on...)
