Jay Peak's Trail Status on their new web site shows "Trail Status (Evening)".

Does Jay plan to offer evening skiing?

They tried it back in the sixties and after an ice storm took out the lights they never put them back up.

Maybe the evening column is to notify the customers that a trail will be opening the next day without having to put this report is for xx/xx/xxxx. Example, it is Monday and there was snowmaking on the jet all day. Halfway through the day they decide the jet will open on Tuesday. Instead of updating there snow report to say open, which would be lieing they would put open in the evening column to tell you it is opening the next day.

Or on the other hand I can be completely wrong, which is most likely!

I think that TwinTips is on the right track....they issue snow reports for the EVENING (forecast for next day) and in the morning.

They are actually planning on opening nights this year. It was suppose to be a surprise but I guess the truth is out now. There have been talks for major freestyle comps this year along with some boarder cross- all which would happen at night.

have they put up lights? if they are planning on doing night freestyle comps, i would assume they would be lighting up the can am area down where the terrain park is and spinning the bonaventure quad? seems like a massive operation for not much revenue generation... who would their target market be? also doesn't make sense they would partner with bolton for the college pass with bolton night skiing and then turn around and install lights at jay. i am highly doubtful of this without seeing an official word.
