I have next week as a vacation for me and the two kids and we are going skiing somewhere. Most likley the Laof or Jay. Does anybody have thoughts on how these two areas have held up condition wise ? We've been to both

Go to Stowe instead. Rates are down to 54 bones. Much better spring skiing.

Much better spring skiing than the loaf? Hard to beat a good spring day at the loaf imho.

Obviously I would choose the loaf but its all good.

Ah right. Too bad, looks like they could keep going into May: http://forums.alpinezone.com/26974-stowe-april-13-14-15-a.html
Lots of places could keep going into May. I just drove by Cannon yesterday and all trails are almost 100% completely covered. There were two 3-5 foot diameter bare patches on Zoomer. That was all I could see bare from the road. It is tough seeing ski areas close down at 100% operation minus glades or perhaps one or two steep and rocky trails. But what we'll be seeing this year is ski areas closing down several weeks before the melt out really begins.

We'd love to have you come to Sugarbush next week. We are open all week and everyone skis for $29 a day. There are also some lodging packages on www.sugarbush.com

Almost makes you wish for a quick melt so you don't have to see all those unused slopes. Good for the earn-your-turns crowd however.
