I love playing Tommy's music. He's easily one of the most accomplished musicians of our day, and also an incredible performer. I totally ruin his music, but have a blast playing it anyway. Here are my latest videos. Some constructive criticism would be helpful, from those who play, or have a keen ear. As always, I'm really not totally happy with my playing/singing, but recording and then listening is one of the best ways to improve.

I'll embed them here, but you can click through and watch them in 720p if you'd like.

Tommy Emmanuel's "Angelina:"

Tommy's arrangement of Billy Joel's "And So It Goes:"

Tommy's arrangement of "I Still Can't Say Goodbye:"

And an original, "In Contemplation:"

I'm working on a couple more recordings this week, and I'll post them here when finished.

Wow guy.. absolutely loved those videos. I am going to pass them along to my brother in law who is a guitarist up in Burlington. I am sure he will appreciate them.

Your original is wonderful!! Have you ever entered the amateur musicians competition sponsored by Advanced Music? If not, you should. It is great to see the depth of talent.

I am not sure how I would classify the style but I was trying to describe it to a friend just last weekend. I am not sure I would call it folk but "acoustic" doesn't seem to do it much justice. Of course it is acoustic. In any event, well done!! Thank you for posting these!!!

Btw - I hadn't heard of Tommy Emmanuel before but I will Youtube some of his stuff tonight when I get home. And, I love the trombone in the background!

Thanks! The style is generally classified as "fingerstyle." I haven't done the amateur competition by Advanced Music, but I'll check it out. Sounds like fun, and a good way to meet some talented local musicians.

Yeah, check out Tommy Emmanuel's stuff. He's easily one of the best living acoustic players. He's actually playing a concert at Higher Ground in May. I'll be there. It's a Vermont Public Television benefit, so I had to "pledge" to get my ticket... but totally worth it. He's doing one in Maine as well, just a couple of days later.
