MOUNT SNOW, Vermont -- Olympic Gold medalist and Mount Snow Academy graduate Kelly Clark took first place in the quarterpipe competition at the 2007 New Zealand Open, held Wednesday, August 8 in Wanaka, New Zealand.

Clark also won honors for getting the biggest air in the quarterpipe, and placed second in the halfpipe competition. Australia's Torah Bright scored an even 88.00 to narrowly edge Clark, who scored 87.25. Manuela Laura Pesko of Switzerland scored a 77.00 to finish third in the halfpipe event.

Last winter, Clark became the first female to win the U.S. Open halfpipe competition three times. She won a gold medal in the halfpipe event during the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake, Utah.
