So I will be missing the Sundown swap this year-- out of town, and need to find some used (or cheaper new) kids boots. Any recommendations? Someone told me Fatty's carries used (in kids only)-- any confirmation or other thoughts? I should have checked Ski Tunes in Simsbury when I was dropping my skis for work... their new stuff is mostly race, but maybe they carry used for kids????

Suburban Sport in Berlin used to carry used kids' boots--I imagine they still do. I think Fatty's did have a room upstairs with used equipment, but not sure how much they had in the line of kids' boots. Probably anywhere that rents kids' skis will have a fleet of used boots to sell.

I will check suburban sports and Fattys, and probably Play it again in WH (though they always seem expensive)-- the risk with suburban is that I will walk away with no kids boots but a new pair of Elan Bloodlines--- I have looked extensively at levelnine for skis, but am leary of buying boots without having the kids try them on-- might work for me son, who could care less about fit, comfort or whether he even had boots on, but my daughter is the proverbial princess always complaining of a pea in her boot, etc.

My kids are still little so I'm just buying the one buckle boots for now. I'm sure we'll be going and trying stuff on in a couple years.

Both kids went from 2 buckle to 3 buckle last year-- my son used to lose his boot and ski instead of his ski with the 1 and 2 buckles- they somehow never stayed closed.

can be hit or miss but i've had good luck @ Play It Again Sports for kids stuff.

I've gotten hockey equipment/skates there for the kids, but always thought they were a little pricey for used stuff. They do seem to have an extensive ski boot collection, too. Will check them out again.
