Dates Skied: January 28-29, 2006

Resort or Ski Area: Killington
Conditions: MM/MG/Powder/FG/Thin Cover

Trip Report: After reports of 12" of snow during the week and snow making throughout, I had some great expectations for Killington. Well, wasn't quite as good as expected, wasn't all that bad either. Saturday started on Upper Downdraft, hit some boilerplate. Cut across to lower Double Dipper, tons of ice. It appears that wind has hurt the mountain bit. Tried East Fall, was in nice shape in the morning. Next we worked our way over to Bear, well Bear had some fantastic snow. Outer Limits was all covered with nice, big, soft bumps. Now I'm not a bump skier, but I had a great time here. After this we tried Bear Claw and Wildfire, both had nice soft bumps. After Bear we had some lunch and went up Snowdon, now conditions were getting real icy, my wife just didn't want to bother anymore. I saw they had opened up Bunny Buster which had been closed for a race, so we tried that. It was real sweet for cruising, my wife loved it and we took a ride up the poma for one more trip down. Finished the day at 2:30

Sunday was pretty much a repeat, with the addition of doing Vertigo twice, which was groomed from the top 2/3s and then there were some bumps on the bottom portion, which was also iced up, we didn't bother doing lower Vertigo because of ice, but the upper 2/3s we did twice. The Super Star Quad had broken down on Saturday. Sunday we worked our way over to Superstar twice, some great conditions on Superstar and all trails that are serviced by the Superstar Quad. Conditions could have been better, but if you explored there were some nice conditions to be found, overall it was a very enjoyable weekend.

Hey Andy, my girlfriend and I were up. We started off at Bear and made our way over and stopped at K1 for some lunch. By the afternoon, we hit 'the canons' too late with the majority of it being iced over.

Skiing Superstar on Sunday was definately worth Sunday's efforts... the remainder of the mountain stunk.

Yeah Canyon area was iced, but I thought that Bear was cool both days and really liked Vertigo on Sunday. Conditions weren't the best, weren't bad, but for some reason had a really good time and hated leaving Sunday. Guess I got the ole ski legs back :)
