Windy and cold in the morning. Wind calmed down in the pm.
Pulled into Skyeship about 8:45 and waited a few for DoubleEject then cashed in one of our $38.00 specials. What a deal! Got a couple left but should have bought more.
Great day at K. Mostly groomed out. Skied all over the place, when we found something we liked we tripled it. Pretty good surface on the groomers. Sides of the trails were the place to be. No lift lines. Had lunch under the umbrella.
As usual a few obligatory pics.

Peak Lodge:

Bittersweet chute - nice!

Wildfire. Thought I had some better pics of it - it was our favorite run today.

The right side of Outer limits was nice. Deserved a repeat.

DoubleEject all smiles..........................

Great stuff. Call me crazy but Powerline is probably my favorite trail at K. Love how the snow blows in there and how nice and narrow it is.

Friday was the warmest day of the week, albeit windy. Grey skies all day made visibility on some trails difficult, flat light especially on Cascade & Downdraft even in the morning. Conditions were excellent all over the mountain but not much in the way of bumps except on a select few natural snow trails. Out of the 3 days I skied K this week Thurs. was the pick of the litter, deep blue skies, not a cloud to be seen, virtually non existant wind.

edit: Fri. was also the most crowded day of the week with at least 3 times the amount of people as Wed./Thurs. Still no lift lines except for a short line at K-1 which I didn't ride all day. I avoid both gondola's as much as possible.

Holy boilerplate Batman. The 2nd and 3rd from the last pics remind me of Vernon Valley on a Saturday way back. The rest of the mountain los good though.

Wow, Powerline lost a lot of snow in the last 2 days. I skied that today (2/2) and there were a lot of rocks and bare spots.

Still one of the more fun trails as I prefer some rocks/bare over glassy-frozen steep groomers.

I wish I took pictures today to show you what I mean, it lost a ton of snow.

I'm with you there. Roundabout is another good one if you like narrow and bumpy.

The same I had at Hunter. Best skiing weather all season.

That was the same for me as well 3 weeks ago. Wed and Thursday were sparse and Friday had 3 times as many people. Glad the Needle's Eye Quad was open that day. I'd hate to be there on a weekend.

I'll tell you this, you had a lot more snow then we did. A lot of the trails in your pics weren't open when we were there.

I was at K with a couple of friends on Friday and had the same experience. My firends are passholders there and they tried thier best to find me all the pockets of natural snow they could! Loved Powerline, Ridge, also Jug. Classic New England Ski day, threading through grass, icel floes, and brambles in search of quality turns. Loved it! A trip down skiers left of Outer Limits reminded me of why I search out natural snow trails...steep, carvable hardpack. Skiers right lood still a bit too steep and rocky for my skill set...After 1PM we headed over to Pico where we did a few laps on SUmmit GLades which was more of the same. strips and pillows of nice soft natural snow to be found if one was willing to do some serious grundel-flossing.
