Resort or Ski Area: Killington

Conditions: Ice, Hardpack, Pack Powder, Powder

Trip Report:

Tim and I arrived after a fun filled drive up, a little after 9, I think we hit the gondola by 9:45ish.. give or take a few. It was DAMN COLD yesterday.

Conditions varied by trail, and varied in the extreme! Some had nice powder, others cleanly groomed, others were an icy mess.. I think it was on cascade, our second or third run of the day where the skiers lined up like penguins to slide down the hill one at a time.. as the day went on those conditions simply changed trails..

We started with the K-1 Express Gond for our first couple of rides up, mainly due to the cold and all that friendly wind. After 2 runs though, we got hooked on the Canyon Quad's trail areas... Ridge Run, Powerline mostly.. as they had some nice cover from the wind and the trails had some powder/packed powder vs some of the ICE runs we found on Cascade and a few others.

My lack of visitation/skiing had me more focused on the runs then trail names and locations.. at least for the first half of the day.. so I don't have them ready here.

Ridge Run was nice though, as the day progressed the wind changed and the icy bumps at the top, ended up with a good 2" + of powdery snow coverage after our warm up around 12..

We did hit as much terrain as we could (was opened) on the right side of K Peak..

Tim had some noticeable frostbite signs showing here and there.. and I think his bandanna face coverage will be upgraded soon ! aha !

Day #1, first fall goes to Tim, who quite nicely flew out of his bindings, but he was somewhere behind me on the hill.. didn't get a chance for a picture :)

FYI: We took a couple of pictures but it was soo cold the phone cams where not responding well.. and the pics came out pretty pathetic.. useless.. not to mention the flesh on our hands was turning a nice bluish color while trying !

Legs are soar, but nothing extreme, funny that the wrists and upper forearms are soar from planting.. lol.. other than that.. ready to roll Sunday night for Sundown.

Good to be back in the game.. it's been far too damn long.
