Conditions: Blue Sky, Cold & Windy on Killington Peak through the Canyon and Snowdon Mountain with icy base with loose granular.

Blue Sky & Cold on Bear Peak with icy base with loose granular and warm on the lower elevations with mashed potato bumps.

We wound up parking at Snowshed and went over to the Superstar chair and warmed up on Skylark and then over to Snowdon to ski the trails under the Snowdon Tripe & Quad chairs with Mouse Trap, High-Line, Great Bear & Northstar being in very good shape with powder & soft bumps.

After that we hustled over to Canyon Chair to ski East Glade a few times and Double Dipper, then over to the North Ridge (formerly known as the Glades Triple) and really enjoyed West Glade top & bottom a few times as well as Rhyme Glade. Upper West Glade was in great shape with powder and soft bumps. The Canyon Trails were icy with loose granular snow, but the edges held enough to make tight turns to stay off the ice.

After breaking for a bite to eat, we went back to the Canyon Chair and traversed over to Bear Mountain where we made numerous runs down upper Wildfire with and icy base with mounds of soft snow, and lower Bear Claw with mashed potato bumps as if we were in April.

Lastly we played over in the Needles-Eye area enjoying the powder under the gondola lines and cruising right on to the gondola to Skye Peak and down Skye Lark noticing the Superstar chair was shutdown and our flat sojourn to Snowshed Lodge to retrieve our belongings and drive home.

In summary the mountain was both crowded and in good shape overall.

Anyway, the day went too fast.

After the wonderful day of skiing yesterday, I took my ski's downstairs to review the bases & edges. It's been a while since I skied Killington and I remember having to spend extra time cleaning up edges after skiing there than most other places. This experience is consistent; many more burrs than received at Loon, Attitash, Pat's, Gore, Sunapee, or Crotched this year. And no base damage.

I love that place. :D
