I looked online last night to see if they were open today and I see this.

Conditions
Saturday, November 21, 2009
We're skiing this weekend at Killington!

The K-1 Gondola and the Northridge Triple will spin Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Some walking will be required on the lower portion of the mountain.

We'll offer Blue Square (more difficult) trails only. No Green Circle (easier) terrain will be available. Early-season terrain park open on Reason with three features. Snowmaking will continue as conditions permit.

We will not offer skiing/riding Monday through Wednesday, re-opening either Thursday or Friday for the Thanksgiving weekend. Check back often for updates

Now I have the family booked at the Grand Resort from Tues thru Fri. I am thinking this sucks. Spending the money to just go up and cook turkey in the hotel. So, I email the guy that booked my stay and ask what is is going on with not being open.

He emails me back and says that the mother nature is throwing a curve ball. He then says that I can get credit or full refund. Wow, not the policy. I did cancel.

Way to go K-mart. Thanks. Kudos.:grin::grin::grin::grin:

I'm glad to see that Killington is letting people cancel. Lower Bunny was brown snow and mud this afternoon. Tomorrow will definitely be walking and I give them all the credit in the world if they spin the lifts tomorrow for those who want to ski. There is no way they could stay open until they can get the guns running again. I figure Friday is the earliest they can possibly re-open and I'm making appropriate plans. This will be the first Thanksgiving day in a very long time that I haven't skied.

Looking at the forecast, it's going to be tough to make snow at all this week. What will they do if the snow line receeds too far up Bunny? Totally sucketh....

It's too far out know anything at this point. The forecast has drifted from bad to worse since yesterday. And by worse, I mean that if this forecast occurs exactly, they have virtually zero chance of getting open on Saturday. 2000 ft elv noaa-cast:

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. East wind around 6 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. East wind around 6 mph.

Monday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday: A chance of showers, mainly before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 48. East wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30. Calm wind.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 48.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thanksgiving Day: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 45. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thursday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Friday: Rain likely. The rain could be heavy at times. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Friday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: Cloudy, with a high near 35.

Saturday Night: Cloudy, with a low around 19.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35.

It's also worth looking at the detailed graphs, most of the colder temps come with high humidity - not helpful for snowmaking.

Regardess, the only thing we really know at this point is that the next 2 days or so probably won't be good....anything could happen after that.

Makes me think that the Japanese-made indoor snowmaking thingy that Tenney had for a few months would come in handy...
