LIGONIER, PA — Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources officials yesterday joined representatives of Seven Springs Mountain Resort and Somerset Trust Company to announce an agreement that allows Seven Springs to operate the ski area at Laurel Mountain State Park, Westmoreland County.
Details of the agreement are being finalized, but it will permit Seven Springs to operate the facility, now owned by Somerset Trust Company, through the 2004-05 ski season. At the end of the ski season, Somerset Trust Company officials are currently developing a long-term strategy for the continued success of the ski area beyond this season.
