I just though that I would share a picture of my kayaking trip in P.A today on the Lehigh River. My original plan was to kayak in Connecticut, but the rain last night brought most rivers up to dangerous levels.

I have a large group of freinds in P.A that I paddle with, and they invited me onto the Lehigh. It was a beautiful day from start to finish and the foliage is comming along nicely.

The paddling was all class II-III for 12 miles from Rockport to Jim Thorpe. It was my first time on the river, but I plan to be back next year.

The group that I paddle with has been comming to the Catskills to paddle on the Esophus this summer, as the Lehigh has been bone dry.

Now the tables have been turned as the Esophus and the southern New England creeks/rivers have too much water for safe paddling.

I usually do not paddle into October as I do not like cold water, but it was 100% sunny and 73F which made the 60F water feel a bit better.
