I went for a little bike ride today to try to scope out some promising looking glades(ya you can call me pathetic and desperate, but it is very close to my house and looks like fun in a good dump
here are some pics

oh ya everything is way steeper than it looks, it is actually pretty step, probably atleast black diamond steepness

and on another note while i was gone someone died at my local basketball court going in for a ball, its really weird i was going to go down there too but decided to ride my bike to the cementary instead... the pond is pretty deadly it seems like every year someone dies in it, it has some weird weeds on the bottom that like wrap around your leg so u get come up, pretty scary i no i would never go in there.... now im kinda curious if i knew the person who died because i play basketball down there and know most of the people :(

Yea man, those definitely could have some potential after a big dump. I have some really crazy terrain in the woods right behind my house, the problem is when we have a significant snowfall I'm usually at a mountain skiing. I did get to do the hill directly in front of my house this past winter though. The area I did ride was mellower than some of the other stuff around my house, the other areas are usually much more rocky. These are some pics all taken less than a mile from my house.

This is the area I did in March

This is the more intense area, as you can see it would be epic with 3 or 4 feet of snow, but if you only have even 1 or 2, you're gonna destroy your base

The cool thing about doing local spots is you find tons of neat things like this
