Headed up to Magic early Friday morning. This was without a doubt the perfect followup to Plattekill last weekend, the same type of resort with more vertical. Nothing but beautiful natural snow everywhere. I'm glad I read all the trip reports a week ago of this place. On and off the lift all day and also took advantage of $25 group rate (3 ppl or more) that was in effect that day. The next day we went to Stratton and wished we had done another day at Magic. This is a true hidden gem of Southern, VT. Got a taste of the whole mountain and loved it, does Magician ever open ? That looks like one hell of a fun trail !

Glad to see all the good reports coming from Magic lately, definitely a too frequently overlooked gem.

Upper Magician is a bit of a rock garden, takes a lot of snow and is often wind scoured. That said: all skis are rock skis!
