Magic's website says the red chair will be spinning tomorrow but not the black. http://www.magicmtn.com/snowreport.php

Not sure why this is, but is it worth a long drive just to ski the terrain available off the red?

I'm trying to figure out where to go tomorrow & Magic is one option. Thanks for any advice.

The Red chair has always been the workhorse of the mountain. You can get to everything fro the Red.
they don't need the capacity they are just running the red. No problem for me. Never been a line anyways.
Go and enjoy!

You can access the whole mountain from red and it should be virtually ski on all day. No need to run black unless they are expecting LOTS of folks.

other than the very top of black line (you could walk to it if it really mattered) you can get to pretty much everything from Red easily. Black was running last weekend so i'd think it is just low volume that has only red running. (call if you are worried). coverage was great last weekend, if they get a few inches tonight it should be fantastic tomorrow.

I wish Nick would lock down this thread. Everytime the post comes up, I think - "oh, it's down again". Not fair.

lol, that's why I clicked in there, I thought OH NOEZ!

But the thread doesnt need to be locked, just alter the title.

Should be an awesome wknd at Magic...temps in the 40's, sun, and lots of snow with 100% open. I've never skied Magician so hopefully they don't have it roped by Sunday when I'm there...thinking the sun on Sat may eat into it pretty good.

I thought the same thing when I saw the thread back on the first page. No need to lock it though. I just moved the recent posts to a new thread with a more appropriate title...

Skiers left holds up really well. Skiers right may get ugly with bulletproof ice beginning where the pine trees are down to the frozen waterfall at the bottom where broomstick crosses.
