The one near the Zoo? That is the longest escalator I've ever seen. Has to be like 8 stories.

The DuPont circle one is longer than the Cleveland Park( by the zoo)..but looking at Wikipedia I found...

The Rosslyn station is the deepest station on the Orange/Blue Line, at 97 feet (30 m) below street level. The station features the third-longest continuous escalator in the world at 205 feet (62 m); an escalator ride between the street level and the mezzanine level takes nearly two minutes.[13]

196 feet of vertical and yes he had a spotter making sure nobody got on the escalator or got in the way at the bottom. If someone had gotten on the escalator they would have no where to go.

I wonder if he had a helmet on? You can do anything with a helmet on and not get hurt.

Other variations are:
- down escalator
- up escalator
- doing it switch.
- snowboard
- flexible flyer with metal runners
