Great idea. I've wanted to put in for that lottery for a long time. With the baby coming and the school year here, it may be difficult for me to get away. (Verizon sucks by the octogon too!) But if I could swing it, I would do it in a heartbeat.

funny thing is i have never done it before. it says you can cram 12 in. so thats probally a good thing if its nipples up cold.

I got to see the inside once when I got off the quad. It's quite large. I would go as high as 8 adults to keep room for gear and rations. I always thought of the logistics of getting gear and rations up, particularly beer. I've felt that a few people could hump the gear up the steps in their regular sneakers or boots and hand it off to a few skiers looping on the quad.

some beer but remeber what goes up must come down. so burbon works alot better. the key is to ride the day before so at the end od the day you can shuttle food up then your gear. the food wil go in the belly. bottles will have to come down. actually you might be able to dump stuff at the octagon.

ya but if you want a specific time you have to be first in.

If you get the reservation and have an extra spot..I'd definitely be down..

i would like to see how many people would be into it. just dont want to be by myself.

First we have to see what the date will be...as for food and drink..I figure a couple 24 ounce long trails or a growler of shed and a bottle of some jack daniels, tullamore dew or Jameson along with food will be adaquate...also safety meetings are mandatory..you can never be too safe..

never done it, would consider it on a Saturday night

Some of my old friends have stayed before and they knew some groomers who would help them out by hauling up beer on the snowcats at night

what your not going to do any midwinter trips

During midwinter my trips are last minute..because one week could be uber good and the next could be right after a thaw..but if you get a date midwinter I can go then as well..Midwinter is when I do most of my skiing out west. But I'm not planning on booking any trips out west until November/December so if you get hypothetically January 15th..I can set aside that weekend. I'm gonna have a ton of vacation time this next ski season because I'm carrying over 4 of my days from last season...then I get 18 more days and 3 floating personal days so 25 days total I can use...:daffy:

I really want to do the Stone Hut trip...plus it would be way cheaper than staying in a hotel..and alot of fun..I'd probably drive up from Pennsyltucky on Wednesday or Thursday. I could pick you up in Dirty Jersey on the way..
