Yes, but for many of the traditionally non-late season player resorts, the ceasing of the snowfall was pretty close to the ceasing of the masses showing up and as a result made it an easier descision to close up at their usual times and NOT have to make the "we still have lots of snow, but nobody is showing up and buying day tickets" choice.

Probably made life a bit easier for many a mountain GM as they were looking at late season daily revenues vs. daily expenses
I didn't notice any areas closing earlier this season. Seemed pretty normal closing week schedules as I would estimate. The decision is usually made regardless of weather, I have seen my fair share of mountains close with 100% terrain open and a snow storm looming on the horizon.

2 months of spring skiing is great!!!!! I wish we had two months of spring skiing every year..

I prefer closer to 3 months of spring skiing with the odd big powder day mixed in. I'd much rather ski in sunglasses than goggles & helmet.

If the moron new owners made snow on it, Killington's Devil's Fiddle was always the March spring trail. It faces east at lower elevation so it's always the first thing to soften. Even if the entire rest of the mountain is bullet-proof, that would be edgeable on any sunny day in March. I'd say that half the days in a typical March, it softens. Jug Handle is another trail that tends to soften in March since it also faces east. Too bad it's so short.
