So after waiting around all morning/afternoon for CAD files to show up for a new project, i decided it was way to nice out to not go take a few runs.
got up to south around 3:45 and it was still around 56 or so. it was a ghost town. i think everyone was in the city for union square comp. even though south is lower in elalvation it rides much bigger because of the layout.
i prefer south peak to bear becuase at bear its either a short steep drop then pretty flat or flat then a steep drop no real in between. i do have a complaint about they way they are building there kickers. the take off is to steep and the landings are not steep enough. they throw you straight up and not out so if you hit them with any sort of speed you go like 10 feet in the air and land on flat. i guess this is great for the park rats do like 4 or 5 speed checks befor the hit but not so great for me. any way took some pic for those that have never been before
Big Bear
lower jumping jack best kicker of the day
upper jumping jack
cliff run you can see that the landing in a little flat
rail on lark
giant steps going under the southern soujurn lift
looking down on hawk highlands.
they really should put in a rope tow in this area so you can have sessions without having to go all the way back down. i also think this is where the new halfpipe is going to go
bottom of highlands
anybody know what these cabins are of to the right of the highlands
and so everybody knows the 80's are alive and well
i personaly have had fun on the warm days at south. when is cold the rats scrape it down pretty fast. they really need to get somene in there that knows how to play up the terrain so there is a little more flow but for the JERZ its pretty good
