The glades are pretty flat and single track but get nice further down and to skiers right; they open right up and get steeper. 30+ years ago Stratton had started an expansion in that area that got stopped for some reason. They had even poured some lift footings. When I worked up there in the mid 80's we poached the runs a few times with the Ski Patrol. The modern Kidderbrook area covers most of that terrain today (sans chairl lift) but I think some of the real old stuff is out in those woods we were skiing last March 28th.
I'd love to find out more.
Yes me too!
We were going in right at the top where it was real tight. My only big concern is skiing past the run out (lower Kidderbrook) and not getting back to the lifts. Is the boundary marked at the bottom to guide you back to the run out? Going up the old Kidderbrook lift, I always looked at that terrain. I was also looking off of work road. Not too worried about giving-up stashes, since everyone one this list thinks Stratton sucks anyway. And it does suck!! Don't bother skiing here, move along!!
