Today was my third day at Snow for the season. I arrived around 11:00am and there was sun and clouds and spring like snow. I was surprised to see a lack of crowds. I think I passed most of the holiday guests on Rt 112 on the way up.
Basically anything where the sun hit was nice and soft. As the day progressed and the temp started to drop the soft snow started to firm up in the shadows.
I skied Beartrap a few times as the bumps were soft and the left side (skiing down) are smaller, the way I like them. The trails I skied on North Face were Chute and Fallen Timbers. FT was bumped up and soft but once the shadows cast on the trail things got firm.
Today reminded me of late March skiing. It was the combination of weather, spring snow and the brown. It is hard to believe that one week ago there was a major snow event in the northeast.
I posted three pics. 1. Somerset from North Face (Fallen Timbers Trail) 2. View from the Sunbrook Quad 3. I think this was the Ridge trail.
I need a new phone - most of my pics have missing pixels!
