Got up to our place Friday and there was 4"...maybe 5" of new snow....on top of the 8" that fell Tuesday/Wed.

Headed over the mountain Saturday AM...it was busy, but we were able to park @ Mountain Ops. Ticket line was nuts. The skiing was awesome! The mountain said they had 6" of fresh, but I think that was conservative. We took the Summit Local because the lines for the high speeds were a little long. Hit Cascade to River Run and took a look @ the Ripper. That was my next run...and was probably run of the weekend. Committed was outstanding...skiers left was powdery rollers. Ripcord skied very well. Due to all the snow, the bumps were a bit smaller. I think that was the fasted run I've every taken down the trail. Some dude on tele's yelled something at me as I went by: "yeahhhhhhh, get it!" Or something like that. It was a sweet run. We did a bunch of different runs around the mountain. I couldn't get over how well the mountain skied. The wetter snow mid week really helped the base. It was a classic powder/packed powder day.

Sunday, we got up and decided we'd head over for "a few runs". Long story short...we skied more Sunday than Saturday. I think the cold scared everyone off; it was about as crowded as a Wednesday. We pretty much skied on the lifts all day. Longest wait was a minute or two.

Sunday was packed powder day. But I still found some fresh stuff over at Carinthia. The natrural trails skied awesoeme again. Snowdance was a blast...packed powder and skied fast.

Phresheez indicated we did about 25 miles of skiing between the two days. 8)

Fingers crossed for the midweek storm dropping lots of snow!

Just an awesome weekend at Mount Snow. The temps until Sunday afternoon weren't nearly as bad as I was expecting (and based on the light crowds, many others were expecting too)

Saturday - hit AM Express with the family, had one of those "I'll remember this run for a LONG time" type runs, as me and my son were the 1st one's down all of Overbrook from the headwall to bottom - about 3" of fluff ontop of a machine groomed surface, and I had the pleasure of letting my 5 year old be the first tracks - so much fun as a parent watching him lay down some tracks and try and catch some air of every last roller he came across there!

Most of my skiing Saturday then became all about Sunbrook, with Moonbeam -> Big Dipper being the run that my wife and I kept lapping over and over - over the boot top fluff on skiers right of moonbeam and then skiers left of the last pitch of Big Dipper with some soft powder bumps forming there :) When the cold finally won out, he headed for The Station prior to the debut of Vcunning's 2011 Snowbar that evening

Sunday - it was all about the natural snow terrain for me. One More Time, Jaws, Challenger, The Dippers/Moonbeam, Fool's Gold, Narrow Gauge, Ledge, Tramline, Sap Tapper, Shootout, Hop. Just lots of goodness. This weekend over delivered considering what the potential temperature wise could have been!

We couldn't beleive the difference in Big Dipper from last Monday...to this Saturday. Another trail that was night and day was Hop. Again...some wetter natural snow made all the difference.

The woods off Uncles skied pretty well too. Had to watch making your own "tracks"...that crust under the fresh could be interesting!

Pretty similar experience here...Got a big group out the door and on the snow by 8:30 am Saturday, which I count as a win. Everyone was pleasantly surprised that, though cold, it was not quite as cold as we thought it would be/predicted. We skied til almost 1, w one 10-15 minute warm up break. We stuck to groomers for the sake of the group, and I think Shootout was the run of the day, though really, there wasn't a bad run to be had, save for some funkiness on South Bowl that was a little challenging and stranded the boarders in our group at times who didn't carry enough speed. I made it back home for the second half of the OSU hoops game, and then we all took long naps before a night of partying.

Said night of partying had us sleeping in and not skiing until 11 on Sunday, but as has been mentioned, the lack of crowds was striking and thus we got a lot of runs in before we quit at 2:30. Ego Alley skied great and we got to make a run through some gates that were set up (no one was present though). I wanted to push some of the skiers in the groups so we hit Ledge from the top which was a lot of fun with a couple of spots for little rock hucks, and small moguls in their formative stages. Run of the day was probably little ole Snowdance, simply because I've never skied it when it had great, groomed snow from edge to edge (quite a span) and when it was that empty.

A great weekend all in all!

When the cold finally won out, he headed for The Station prior to the debut of Vcunning's 2011 Snowbar that evening

It was so cold, that the beer froze solid after only 3 hours. Here are some pictures of the event.
