Big improvement from last week! They are making lots of snow and should have a bunch more slopes open soon. Skied Plummet this afternoon snowmaking whales and all! Light was a little flat but the overall conditions were great.

Boy do I remember some fun rides in Mount Snow's old Bubble Gondola Chair back in the day.

They just started to make snow on it from the looks of things

And the ripper is usually about a 3 day "project" since there's some "technical challenges" about covering basically a cliff with snow in a way that the snow will stick and not slide.

First they basically need to make a really wet layer so that it will basically freeze/bond to the ledge that is the headwall and then once they've got that layer done they gradually start backing off on the the water content to create a thick top layer that will both "bond" to the base layer and also leave a skiable surface over all that ledge.

But whenever opening day is for Ripcord that's a GREAT day as skiing it when it's covered with big whales of cream cheese like snow is really awesome!

I dont know how they do it but the snow on Ripcord is usually incredibly good for how steep it is. Very edgable...
