Arrived around 8 to an almost empty lodge. We took a few runs up to the top....mountain skied well! The snowmaking over the week helped. We ventured over to the North Face (one run open) and it had been grommed. Due to the cold temps over night, it ws firm cord. Skied very fast with some cookies. After that, we took a run down Ridge and with the fn guns going, skied well. Over to Carinthia; park on Nitro was built up and they did a good job. Run of the day was Mineshaft to Inferno....both empty. We took a few more runs to the top and things started to get crowded. Desptie not a ton of people being thtere, there just arent enough trails open to spread people out. And you had a bunch of once a year skiers out for their annual traverse the entire trail ski-a-bration.
Im thinking with the cold temps and fan guns, they should have a great week. Hopefully, they can get a few more trails open to help spread people out....I'm sure that's the plan.
