I just got this from Chris Lenois, at Mt. Snow. He asked me to alert folks about this promo....cool idea. Maybe some of you can send in your pics and then post them on this thread? Just a thought....

What’s in Your Backyard? Mount Snow Wants to Know

MOUNT SNOW, VERMONT – (Wednesday, January 17) – Mount Snow is sending out an open invitation for people to email digital photos of their backyard to mybackyard@mountsnow.com.

The photos will be posted on the Mount Snow homepage (www.mountsnow.com) as part of a rotating banner of photos, says Mount Snow Communications Manager, Chris Lenois. Each photo will be placed side by side with a picture of a trail to demonstrate the mountain’s massive snowmaking capabilities.

“Some people in the Northeast have yet to see a snowflake this winter,” says Lenois. “But our snowmaking team can make it look like winter in a hurry.”

People should include their family name and the town where the photo was taken when they send the email, says Lenois.

Single digit temperatures this week has allowed snowmaking operations to get more than 40 trails ready for this weekend. Mount Snow has top to bottom terrain available for all skier and rider ability levels. There are two terrain parks open for freestylers, with some of the only natural jumps open in the Northeast. They will also begin offering tubing for the first time this season starting Saturday.

Actually, all those would be great. Send to mybackyard@mountsnow.com or go ahead and post them here (along with town/state and your family's last name). Thanks Trailboss for putting this into a thread.

Please no cattle-birthing, but the pasture would be a nice one.

That's a funny idea! But our goal right now is authenticity and emphasizing snowmaking capabilities.

They can have a photo of my back yard, if they want to see a crazy old cat lady peeping back at them over a picket fence with binoculars.....

I live on a bay. They can have a nice picture of my sailboat happily floating. I'm keeping it in all winter..just in case, you know.

I did see that one Drjeff. We'd love to see that crazy woman, cats and cattle too!

Our backyard is getting a nice bit of snowfall as I type this. Our camshot of the day is a pullback of the Snowdance trail through the flakes.

my "backyard" is quite white and fluffy right now, not sure if they want that type of picture because to me, it looks better than the man made mount snow probably has ;) but this is a pretty cool idea. i was at jay peak today and yesterday and the place was virtually empty all weekend except for a small population of powder hounds. not even a one foot dump and almost all terrain open could get the masses up to jay this weekend, that is just crazy.
