Trip Report: One last day of vacation and another day on the slopes. It has been a good vacation to ski--last week had a lot of great days and three powder days too Today we headed back to Sunapee for midweek turns. When we arrived at about 9:30, we were one of the last to park in the main lot. Turns out that today was disable vets day at the mountain and NEHSA was helping some of those vets enjoy a bluebird day :flag:
The weather was nice and the mountain looked good. First run was down Bonanza to a firm Byway and Hansen Chase :x The rain had made things slick.
Next run was into the Sunbowl via Wingding. I opted to hit the Liftline, which was a sheet of ice as well :x Kartwheel was slick as well. The report on Wingding was that it was the same--it appeared that the groomers hit the stuff before it froze. So we bailed and spent most of the day on the HSQ hitting the front runs--Ridge was in best shape and Blast Off was a close second. The primary cover was FG and LG with some groomed patches. Ice was present here and there. Gone were our nice powder conditions, for now at least
We did do another run before lunch into the Sunbowl via Skyway, which was decent. By the way, if you are an employee at Sunapee, please tell the Sunbowl lifties not to lean on the propane tank while taking a smoke break...kinda dangerous  Second time I've seen that
We quit at about 1:00pm or so. Nice weather and warm temps, but firm and fast skiing. Here's to more snow
