Any one heading up Sunday? Looking for a lift up the Auto Road if any one is interested in doing some laps on the Snowfields. My automatic Saturn is not allowed on the auto road :( Will pick up toll for the vehicle ($20) in addition to my own ticket, so it would save you some scratch.

If no auto road, then I will be hiking up to Tuckerman and welcome company for that as well. Cheers!

Probably a good idea to have low gear. I know that even the Burke Mtn Toll Road really overheats cars with low gear. That is a really steep road!

That's the cargo/passenger weight.

My truck just makes it under the wheelbase limit. They've never questioned it. They seem to be less concerned about size when its for work (Also when no one else is on the road. Very strange to drive that road with 20' visability)

In the few years that I've worked at Mt. Sunapee I've had to drive to the top of Mt. Sunapee before on the summit work road. It makes the Burke Mountain Road look like I-89. The Mt. Sunapee work road is 2.9 miles of steep winding dirt road with waterbars to contend with. Using my Toyota Tacoma (standard trans.) pickup I can go up most of it in 2nd gear in 4-Low, though the last pitch coming up under the Sun Bowl lift, I have to go in 1st. I'll try to get some pictures next time I'm up there.

Going up it isn't nearly as much fun as coming down the road...
