VERNON, New Jersey — Mountain Creek Resort announced today that Phase II of The Appalachian condo-hotel, located slopeside at the resort in Vernon, New Jersey has completely sold out. Following a weekend of frenzied sales, 77 homes were sold at Saturday's selection day event. This first village property to be developed at the resort had already sold out its first Phase, consisting of 100 homes. Phase I of The Appalachian, currently under construction, is expected to be completed this summer with Phase II planned for completion in summer 2006.

"We're delighted with the sell out and see this as a natural development of the Mountain Creek community," said Doug Ganssle, Director of Sales at Mountain Creek resort. "People have found a vibrant sense of community and a wonderful year-round playground in New Jersey. So it's not surprising to us that homeowners have decided on The Appalachian in such great numbers."

Designed in an Adirondack Grand Hotel motif, The Appalachian will be the cornerstone of the village at Mountain Creek and will feature a total of 177 homes in furnished studio, one- and two-bedroom configurations. The property will feature the highly sought after ski-in, ski-out access, underground parking, and a host of other amenities.

Mountain Creek recently unveiled its resort master plan and will soon play host to a world-class commercial and residential Village, which will be home to great shopping, fine restaurants and exciting nightlife along with a diverse range of lodging options. In addition to the sold-out Appalachian, the resort is finalizing its Black Creek Sanctuary neighborhood of one-, two- and three-bedroom condos nestled in a serene, protected sanctuary in close proximity to the mountain.

Mountain Creek is uniquely positioned in the Hamburg Mountains less than 50 miles from New York City. The resort currently draws visitors from the entire tri-state region and will become THE city escape destination. While already recognized nationally for its outstanding snowboard and ski facilities, the resort has four-season appeal with year-round activities including New Jersey's biggest water-park, extensive hiking and biking trails, and some of the finest East Coast golf courses nearby.

The Mountain Creek Village is a multi-million dollar venture that will feature every resort amenity imaginable:
  • 65,000 square feet of commercial space in the heart of the Village offering a range of retail and restaurant options for every taste in addition to an exciting nightlife.
  • More than 1,700 mountain resort homes ranging from studio to three-bedroom properties.
  • Conference Campus annexed to the village, featuring state-of-the-art conference facilities.
  • Aqua Club and luxury Spa.
  • Four-season recreational activities.
In addition to the extensive commercial and residential real estate development plans for the Village, Mountain Creek's 1,040 vertical feet, 46 trails and 11 lifts have received $60 million in operational and on-hill improvements over the past four years. Ranked #1 for accessibility by SKI magazine, Mountain Creek is considered one of the East Coast's best facilities with the only Superpipe in the region built to Olympic specifications and the mountain is home to the 2006 Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix, where the Olympic team will be named next January. With more than 170 skiable acres, Mountain Creek also boasts night skiing open until 10pm with more than 1,000 lights on all 46 trails and the tubing lanes. The mountain has North America's only eight passenger open-air gondola and has also upgraded its snowmaking capabilities with the most powerful snowmaking equipment in the region for a longer ski season for winter enthusiasts.

Upon completion of the development efforts, Mountain Creek will be one of the East Coast's largest and most attractive resort destinations following in the footsteps of Intrawest's successful resorts, including Canada's Whistler Blackcomb & Mont Tremblant; Mammoth Mountain, California; and the popular Stratton Mountain, Vermont.
