Got nervous driving across the state on Route 2 as it rained off and on and all the mountains were in the clouds. Rolled into MRG where it was 40 degrees at the base and summit but somehow managed to stay all snow everytime a shower of precipitation rolled in. The clouds lifted above the peak after 11, and the sun even made a few appearances.

Hadn't been to MRG in 5 years and I have no clue why. Even with the thinning cover, it was an absolutely phenomenal day. Paradise, Fall Line, and Chute all skied great. A few spots were quite icy, but most of them were wet packed snow that was great for quick turns (almost too good). Lower Antelope, Lynx, Beaver, and Glade were all fantastic as well. Upper Antelope and Cat Bowl were a bit boney, especially the top of the pitch on Cat Bowl.

Sunnyside is melting fast unfortunately. Some great potatoes where there was snow, but had to take it slow because bare spots and rocks would pop up out of nowhere. Lower single chair area is going quick too in some spots but the main routes (Bunny, Easy Way, lower Waterfall) are all still thick so they'll be alright for a little while.

Good crowd all day... single chair corral was full all afternoon. They should make it to next weekend unless the rainstorm on Monday is too harsh. Definitely not waiting 5 years to go back.
