Resort or Ski Area: Mt. Abram Maine
Conditions: Powder over a bit of Crust / PP
Trip Report: Very good day at Mt. Abram Maine. We were hoping for a blower powder day, but some crust from the earlier weeks storm got in the way a bit.
The Skinny:
Snow: Groomers were awesome. 6" or so they got Friday really tilled up well. Lots of snow flying around. The natural trails had a thin crust under the powder. Made it hard for us to turn. Kinda bummed us out at first... but a couple of natural trials got skied up enough to make them ski very nicely in the afternoon. (the one under the chair and a glade of Boris B.) Took those multiple times.
Crowds: Pretty light. < 2 min wait or ski on all day. I think the cold scared everyone away. Wimps. It was very pleasant in the upper teens. Sunshine. No Wind.
Overall Rating: 8.5 out of 10. Mt. Abram is a super mountain. Great pitch on their front face trails. Separate learning area on the west side. "Boundary to Boundary" policy means you can ski pretty much anywhere. Winding New England style trails that is a lot of fun to chase each other around on. If the crust didn't get in the way in the AM it would of been stellar. Overall an awesome day.

Really Cool shot of Boy #2 ripping up Fearless Leader
Boy #2 laying in a deep carve on Boris B.
Boy #1 Shooting some snow on Fearless Leader
Boy #1 with some Boris B. action
Boy #1 and #2 in the Zephyr Glade. This skied pretty well.
