Report:
Well I decided to make a trip report for my hike this morning at Mt Kearsarge. I figured there may be some new people to hiking and they may take something from it. Left Nashua at 6:45am grabbed a coffee and started trooping north. The weather report stated isolated t storms for the Kearsarge area but mainly after 10am. Got to park at around 8ish and started hiking up the Winslow trail. The trail was fairly steep going basically straight up the mountain for about half a mile. At that point it kind of flattened out a bit and allowed for a gentle climb up the rest of the way. We stopped at a nice ledge and looked out and enjoyed the great view, although it was a bit hazy. Continued on up the mountain came to the junction of Winslow and Barlow trail head and came across our first contact with people. Finished on up to the summit and did a bit of exploring and looking at the fantastic views as well as climbing up the fire tower and looking around. It was pretty hazy up top as well and the wind was whipping around but we still got some closer views of the surrounding area. Suddenly the grey clouds started rolling in and we took our leave of the summit of Mt Kearsarge. Headed down the Barlow trail to make a good loop hike and just barley beat the torrential rains that followed. Barlow trail was kind of eroded in spots but not to badly and it looks like they are going to do some work on it. As we got in our vehicle the rains down poured and we breathed a little easier. All in all a great hike with an awesome summit will have to go again when it is clearer.
