I have to make this quick, must take ski widow to dinner. I'll edit later. Chute rocked. Rest of the mountain in great shape! Freakin' cold out there today! Carinthia is definitley keeping a large population of poeple over there. The mountain was pretty empty early and late. Never a line............I'll edit this later when I have some time.
Legs are cooked after those two days.....................

Chute looked rad! I would have loved to start my season on that again, but it just didn't work out that way...

Nice that you all have gotten to ski some decent bumps so early in the season. I don't think there's a chance at all of me finding any tomorrow at Pat's or next weekend at Waterville.

Chute is primed for the taking tomorrow morning! A few hours will be all you need..............
There were maybe a dozen people on it from 8-11 (thank you Carinthia). Then after my 2 hour lunch (ski house businees) more of the same, maybe two dozen people. Thats when I took those pics...... late in the day.

Damn, Chute looks real tasty. A great run to have this early. Wish I could get over there...

Looks like they are really hammering Snowdance. I look forward to skiing Lower Canyon as a trail once again now that the Gulch has been moved.

I went skiing Saturday morning with my kids from about 8-10. Being with the little ones one thier first day of the season, we stayed off Chute as I never want to be one of those Dads bringing kids places they ought not to be. That said, the rest of the open trails are in amazing shape! We skied Deer Run/Long John, and Upper Canyon/Standard and both are edge to edge, deep coverage. Crowds were not an issue.

Man, they know how to make snow here! The surface was great, dry chalky fan gun snow. The loading conveyor worked as advertised, my kids thought it was fun..I thought it was gimmicky, and I'll reserve judgment on it until I see how it might help the line keep moving on a busy day.

Fan guns were blasting Snowdance, and also they seemed to be blowing on Ridge.

We're heading back up Sunday afternoon, with my Wife coming as well, so I should have a chance to get over to Chute for a few laps! I'll see If I can get a camera out and snap a few shots then.

AND...IT WAS COLD! I was in the mindset for some balmy November temps, but no...it was mid winter feeling on that chairlift.

Very cool. The mountain was in great shape. Good job with the kids. There was a guy with his very young daughter over there at 3:00, and it was painful for both. It had to take him an hour to coax her down while crying her eyes out......................
Hope to meet you up there one of these days. Probably will not be back at Mt. Snow til' 12/6.

That makes me mental. Way to turn your kid off from skiing entirely.

Thanks to all of you for making a report and sharing pics despite the frigid temps. I am glad to hear that the one trail open on TNF wasn't crowded. Perhaps a plus of management's new approach highlighting the differences of the terrain to better cater to diverse groups sliders.

Reminds me of this father forcing his 10 year old kid down Ripcord. Took the kid crying and 30 minutes to get down. I don't know if the father wanted to see if his son could do it, or if he could. Either way, I had a hard time biting my tongue.

Just got back from Mt Snow. Ripcord was sweet was pretty sweet, got pretty gnarly by 1:00, deffinately felt it in the legs.

Rest of the mountain was in superb shape. I have never been a park person, but riding the parks at Mt. Snow are making me feel different. The features were primo and all the jumps were tasty... Pretty soon you'll see me with neon green pants to my knees and a yellow rain jacket with a pink bandana orange gloves red boots and glow in the dark bindings.

KIDDING. I saw a kid today, he was maybe 5'7- jacket and pants were at least xxl. It looked like he got put into a car crusher.. lots of wiggers out there

Totally agree! I was doing some serious father daughter bonding with my almost 5 year old this weekend (the wife and the almost 3 year old son stayed home in CT). And it was basically me just asking where my daughter wanted to ski all weekend long. And while she comfortably make parallel turns on most terrain and has skied all over Mount Snow, between it being her first time this season and that she was sporting some brand new "long" 110cm K2 Luv Bugs, she was content to work on her turns on Launch Pad for a total of about 4 hours this weekend. (Considering we were doing just under 3 minute round trips on that lift/run, I'd bet that so far this season, my daughter and I are probably leading in the most lifts ridden this season race ;) )

Excellent pics!

My wife and I were up there today. WOW! Mt. Snow can lay down some snow. I was impressed considering it was all man made. Packed powder was the norm..and there were very few scratchy spots...even at the end of the day.

I bet it was cold yesterday! It was chilly today, but I'm sure the wind wasn't as bad as it was yesterday. Glad to hear the crowds weren't there yesterday. Today was pretty much "ski on" with regards to the lifts.

Carinthia does a good job and spreading out the crowds. We did a run over there and they had a heck of a terrain park set up.
