Mt Snow or Okemo on Wednesday?

Looks like Wednesday is going to be my last day skiing this year, unless something comes up down the road. I have a pass for either Snow or Okemo. In looking at the web Okemo seems to have more open terrain.

Okemo has more runs / acreage, so they always are going to have more open.

Depends on what you're looking for really. Both will have some nice cruising terrain, but Okemo does not have the steeps as Mount Snow's north face.

Good point about the steepness factor. The other thing I like about Snow is you can do longer runs with a single chair ride.

*Just checked Snow's trail report and the Northface is not open.

Most of the Northface has been opening around noon the last few days so they can let it soften up and be in it's bumped up corn glory! They've typically just been grooming Fallen Timbers and Plummet the last few nights for some high speed AM North Face cruising at the start of the day. Lots of good soft afternoon sunshine drenched bumps over there now :)

So the Northface opening later might not be reflected on the website?

Skied Okemo on Saturday, truly enjoyed the bumps on Sel's choice. But I have to agree with the chair lift thing - felt like I spent a lot of time on lifts that day and not so much on the trails.

The fact that you have to take a chair to get to the chair to get up is what I really don't like about Okemo. We have friends with a condo there, so I go anyway.

It has it's pluses and minuses. I like how it segregates the beginners a bit away from the rest of the mountain.

I'm typically someone who enjoys one lift from Top to Bottom, why I dig Wildcat and Stowe so much, but the set up at Okemo doesn't bother me so much.

I noticed that last time I skied Okemo - it was nice. I assume that won't be a problem on Wednesday!

Mt. Snow

Was at Mt. Snow Saturday, Sunday and Monday. One of the best triple shots of spring skiing ever.
North Face naturals were opening way late, still has a lot of coverage. Woods are fantastic with still deep coverage - we pretty much stayed in there all day Sunday. If I had a choice between the two I'd take Mt. Snow because it is a guaranteed good time with that weather predicted for Wednesday! I guess you really can't go wrong anywhere on days like this past weekend. Okemo should be fun Wednesday also.
Big crowds Saturday, ski-on Sunday afternoon, I want to retire after the day we had yesterday with the empty trails!
Here are a couple shots of Beartrap yesterday (that in itself is worth the trip Wednesday if you are a bumper.......and the sound system has been repaired and actually sounded pretty good).
A couple of the woods, and one of Chute.

Don't rush to get there. Have a big breakfast and ski straight thru 11:00 - 4:00. This early daylight-savings time thing is giving you one less hour of softening in the morning. I personally don't like it........................

I recommend Dot's of Wilmington. They open at 5:30 am. You could have a long, big breakfast. Go for the pancakes with any variety of berries.

We did mount snow yesterday

Was a great day!
Stick to the groomers in the am because it was kinda rough. We hit the Northface laer on. Fallen timbers was nice. Like ghost town for high speeders. It got kinda mushy later on but was a great day. Stayed at the snow lake lodge $69 for the night. Couldnt beat it. Id recomend it. We might try killington out this weekend though. All our fun is melting away!

Both great places . . . my 9-year old likes to sit at the counter and pretend he's a local. It doesn't really work, but the dot's team love him.
