In the defined handicap spaces close to the various base lodges. No different than the close, well defined, handicap spaces of any business
As you approach the Base Area from the North entrance continue straight towards the primary structures, you'll see signage for drive thru lanes that denote skier dropoff, etc.

There will be an easily definable lane for the various shuttles to enter same area for drop-off. This will be the most Left of these lanes and will have a Gate allowing only busses. The entire 200 yards on the left before this Gate is reserved and marked for HCap.

And yes, each of the secondary lodge areas (Sundance & Carinthia) have clearly defined front row parking near primary entrances to those bldgs)

REALLY GOOD TODAY!

Even us long time regulars (ok, our increasing ages may factor into this) are struggling to recall too many seasons where it's been this good for so long a stretch! And if the forecast for the next week or so remotely plays out... wow!

Still really good. Snow holding up well. Lot of little bump areas and natural to play in. Woods good.
Pics are Monday and Wenesday.

Thought it might be a good ski day. Exceeded expectations again. Weird sort of day on what I call "moon" snow. The rain blended in all imperfections in the woods and nattys'. You were cutting new tracks pretty much all day on soft spring snow, including where groomed. This is despite what seemed to be a single digit wind chill on top. Place was empty by Mt. Snow standards. Not even a line for the bluebird.
Snow still hanging on very well. Some bare spots popping on the natural. Some will close soon. Woods still have great coverage. Highlight was a couple Ripper laps with that soft cream cheese snow. Scary as shit for an old man though! Got the blood pumpin'.

Mt Snow summit today 3/31/2025 approx 12:45
View attachment 65701
The combo of the Bluebird being a bit moody with a few lengthy stops AND the moderate rain squall had me quitting about 10:45 this morning. Too bad as overall the snow surface when I was out from 9 until 10:45, was a bunch of soft, cream cheese consistency snow that was fun to ski on.

My hunch is, as they often do this time of year, they'll farm some snow off of the top portions of the now closed for the season Sunbrook area to keep the immediate summit going through the planned main face and North Face closing for the season this coming Sunday.

Then weather permitting, 2 more weeks over at Carinthia, where looking at the 10 day forecast and how much snow is over at Carinthia (and that's before they plow down the features to augment the base depths there) and to the targeted closing day of Easter Sunday

They're closing the main mountain already? Good lord.
That's been their general overall plan the last few seasons. The main mountain/Northface typically closes down about 2 weeks before the targeted overall closing day. With all of the snow they make over at Carinthia, personally it seems like actaully plowing out some of the massive jumps and usng them to augment the base rather than just keeping numerous parks built up, is a GOOD use of the snow they made all Winter.

The last few years the main/Northface typically closed a few days either side of April 10th, the way the weekends/Easter fall this year, it will be a couple of days earlier than the 10th, but in the general ballpark. And keeping snow to the base on the Carinthia side is easier than on the main face side for a host of reasons

Can't believe how few days I'll be getting there this year. After January I was either elsewhere or busy on the good ones and didn't bother going up for the bad ones. Might go this weekend for the heck of it, but looking kind of wet again.

Often when it was GOOD in the Jan- mid March stretch, the wind was causing issues. Now that we get to Spring season, we're getting liquid and/or ice issues this season.... Mother nature, while is some aspects was "good" this season, in other aspects she's certainly been challenging....

I agree. it might have been an all time winter in Northern VT, i don't think that was close to the case in Southern VT. I think snowfall totals are going to end up average +/- for the season and the spring has sucked so far for the weekend warrior.

Just kills any interest in driving up there from Boston. I totally understand the logic behind it, but to me it’s the equivalent of Killington closing down everything outside of the Ramshead area to finish the season, just such a weak weak effort.

I remember multiple seasons of going late into April blasting the bumps on Ripcord, Plummet, Free Fall, Chute, etc. Vail is fucking shameful for shutting North Face down on April 6th. I could live with the 20th, maybe the 13th in a bad year. These areas all had ample snowmaking conditions all through Jan and Feb this year but the haves took advantage and the have nots didn't. Mount Snow should never ever ever be shutting down the same weekend as Magic.

What was the point of blowing all that unskiable ice base onto Ripcord anyway? Was it even skiable for 5 days this spring?
